Kitchen and Bath Beyond
We had a major flooding and needed a complete remodel. This family run business was professional had great pricing and even completed work ahead of schedule. Communication was great workmanship was amazing and pricing was very reasonable!! Highly recommend!!!
5 stars just isn’t enough to rate our experience with Kitchen and Bath Beyond. If you are looking for a company and group of folks who are honest, you can trust to keep their word and work hard for you, then search no more. We had wanted for so long to remodel our dated and spacious kitchen. As our search for contractors began, our dreams were quickly shattered by a couple of well reputable companies, with good yelp reviews mind you who told us our dream kitchen would cost more than double our budget! Just when we were about to put our dream on hold again, we found Kitchen and Bath Beyond and they came to our rescue. Sai and Jing came up with a 3D design of what our kitchen was going to look like and never pressured us to spend more than we needed to. In fact, they gave us options on areas where we could save money on. What was more impressive was the fact that they gave us a very detailed Proposal that broke out all the costs. As an accountant, I was very pleased.
Once demo began, an unexpected problem was discovered that we thought would derail the project. Our old kitchen faucet had been leaking water into the wall behind it and there was rotted wood and mold below the window sill. Sai and his team were able to take care of this problem for us as well, for a reasonable price. Once the remediation was done, Sai, and Jing put Owen to work on our dream kitchen. I must say that I have never seen a more hardworking guy than Owen. And boy is he a talented craftsman! He showed up on time every day and would work until almost 9pm on some nights and weekends. He was very respectful of our home at all times. During the work, if I ever had any questions, Sai and Jing would quickly answer them either by phone call, text, or email. They never once overpromised and under delivered. In fact, it was just the opposite. They gave us a beautiful dream kitchen that we never thought we could afford or get within our budget. We were able to get high end cabinets, countertops, and flooring. We pinch ourselves every day when we walk and see our kitchen.
A true test that you have found a great company is when you recommend them to your family, which we did. My sister worked with Khoi to get countertops, that other contractors told her she couldn’t afford. Once we are ready to have our bathrooms remodeled, without a doubt, we will hire Kitchen and Bath Beyond again to do work.
Reliable, trustworthy, efficient, flexible, amazing value – just some words I’d use to describe K&B Beyond. I gave Khoi and his team a deadline and budget and they met both! How often do you hear of that happening, especially for a full kitchen gut and new floors? Three weeks! Khoi produced some really nice graphics that helps you visualize your end-product, and made quick adjustments per my guidance. His input was extremely valuable, especially for those of us that don’t know a lot about style, trends, what buyers are looking for, etc. The team worked quickly, they were efficient, and did not sacrifice quality for time. Of note, I was able to leave a key to my home in a lockbox, and trust the guys to come and go as they needed. Khoi was available at a moment’s notice, any hour of any day, to answer questions. I had a lot, and he was very patient with me. He even helped receive some shipments for me while I was out of town. Each day the job site was clean! Overall great people, great value, amazing detail work – exceeded expectations in all regards. Best of all, these guys won’t nickel and dime you. You’ll get an estimate and they’ll stick to it, even if they deviate from it (to your favor!) I have two full baths that will need remodeling and KBB will be the go-to. Highly recommended!
These guys are the greatest! Prompt service, attention to detail and reasonable price!
Background: My Silgranit sink cracked a few months ago, and I couldn’t get the company who did the original installation (less than 4 yrs ago) to replace it (I was willing to pay for it, but they refused to return my calls). My husband used caulk and bondo to work as a patch to get us through the holidays.
Details: I did some research and after seeing the great work they did on my sister’s kitchen, I called Khoi at Kitchen & Bath Beyond (AKA Kitchen and Bath Woodworks, Inc.). He came out right away and gave me two bids, one for replacing just the sink which is cheaper, but is risky due to potential for counter top breakage plus one bid to replace the entire counter along with the sink.
After some careful deliberation, my husband and I decided to go ahead and take the chance with having the sink only removed and replaced, even knowing about the risk. Boy are we glad that we did! Khoi sent out Sam and Jose who are innovative craftsmen (and total rock stars in my book); they arrived on time and removed the old sink and replaced it with an identical one that I had bought separately. Everything looks as good as new and we didn’t have to deal with the mess, inconvenience and cost of having to replace the entire counter top along with back-splash to accomplish the replacement. The price quoted was very reasonable and they took extra time and effort to ensure that they avoided any potential damage to my Cambria counter. I definitely think that the company could have made more money off of a full counter & sink replacement, but they went the extra mile and successfully replaced the sink only. I am so grateful for their honesty and integrity (and skills). I will definitely be using this company again! BZ to Khoi, Sam, Jose and the rest of the team!
Big thanks to David and Yu for providing us conscientious and detailed work. Jing was working with my designer to addressing all my concerns and my needs about remodeling the kitchen. The Quartz, custom cabinets, and backslash tile were all installed perfectly and flawlessly, especially my quartz, Jing was able to modify my kitchen layout be more efficient, most importantly, there is 0 joint in my whole kitchen. The finish is beautiful. The workers are very respectful to us and our home, Most of the cutting was done outside and my floor was well protected. I couldn’t be more thankful. I am looking forward to use KBB again next year for my 2 bathroom.
I highly recommend Kitchen and Bath Beyond for kitchen and bath remodeling. Khoi and his team were a pleasure to work with through the entire process. Top notch customer service, great communication, great quality and competitive prices. Any little issue I had a question on was taken care of to my satisfaction. Will definitely use them again in the future!
I’ll start out by complimenting Khoi. He is very knowledgable on remodeling. He offered many ideas to us on our complete top-to-bottom kitchen redo; many of which we implemented in our design. Khoi responded to most of our many texts/calls immediately. I hate waiting for days to get a call back and usually can’t remember by then why I originally called. He has the traits I look for when hiring an employee.
KBB did a complete demo on our kitchen and built the cabinet replacements. KBB has a wide variety of countertops to choose from; including quartz, granite and marble. These materials came in many styles, colors and various grades of quality. The same goes for cabinet choices. So many styles and colors it makes one’s head spin.
Elaine runs a very efficient office. She too is knowledgeable and quick to respond to emails/calls.
Once KBB completed the finish work the kitchen looked just as we had hoped, beautiful & more functional than the dinosaur that WAS our kitchen.
Fantastic Job, very personal, and professional. Recommend to EVERYONE I meet.
We were getting our place ready to put on the market, and I needed to redo the kitchen. I had 3 different estimates done for the remodel of my Kitchen. We choose Sai because he seemed knowledgeable and was the only person who listened to us about wanting to just invest enough to recoup the price in the sale of the house. Not go overboard with a lot of upgrades. They were also the only place that gave me a price breakdown of the individual parts and labor costs. This was a big influence in our decision! A+! Many other people would only give us the final price. They even provided a 3D model of the kitchen. NICE! We were able to make adjustments to the design and parts.
When we scheduled the remodel with him he was very flexible around our schedule. Since he knew we were in a rush to get things ready for the sale, he even was able to move up the date of the remodel even sooner than we had originally scheduled.
When they came to set up work. His team was all very professional and courteous. We had a small kitchen in our condo so it only took a few days to finish. Since we have a condo they set up outside and cleaned up every piece of mess when they were done.
The materials used were good quality, the installation went very well. I was very happy with the result.
My wife and I had been putting off a bathroom remodel for years. We had the standard all purpose bathroom. 6 inch white tile, white counters, etc… so when we decided to finally do a remodel we looked around for quite some time. When we walked into Kitchen and Bath Beyond, we knew that they would be the ones we would work with. Sai is about the most dedicated person I have ever met when it comes to running a business. He runs the business with absolute integrity, explaining the process and ensures that what gets done is done right. No work gets started unless there is an absolute understanding of what will get done. Yes, there was a language barrier with the main contractor (Jing), but in no way did this hinder the work. As a matter of fact, I think it actually made the work better because there was absolute clarity with Sai and Jing as to what would get done. Jing and Chuck (the assistant) are true craftmen. They did an impeccable job with the bathroom. It came out better than what we had imagined. Now that the work has finished, my wife and I are loving are bathroom remodel. Step into the store and look around. It’s a small location but they have everything you will need. 100% absolute recommendation to friends and family. When the time comes to remodel our other bathrooms, they will be the only ones we will use.
These guys did an amazing job on our kitchen! They finished the kitchen flip in a week and have impressed all of our neighbors, family, and friends with their quality work. They designed all of the cabinets with our input and even surprised me with a pull-out spice cabinet! Then they created a wet bar out of a “dead space” in our living room that we had no idea what to do with! They used extra marble from the kitchen to fix up BOTH our bathrooms and make use of all of the material we paid for. They cleaned up EVERYTHING before leaving and even rewired the kitchen and wet bar to add lighting and additional outlets. We couldn’t be happier and more grateful for their creativity, professionalism, and timeliness. This company is family run and they are the friendliest crew, it was sad to see them go! These guys are the BEST. We would hire them again and strongly recommend them to anyone.
First, thanks toi the other Yelpers who reviewed Kitchen Bath and Beyond for steering us in the right direction. We had four companies give us estimates, but each one left us feeling uneasy for one reason or another, and months went by as we searched in frustration for the right contractor. When we saw all the good reviews on Yelp for KBB, we decided to make an appointment for an estimate.
We went into their showroom and began making some choices of cabinets and countertops. Right away we knew that these were people we could trust.
Throughout the process Sai and Jing each volunteered ways we could save money, and added ideas we hadn’t considered before. Both of them were extremely nice, patient with us, thoughtful, and concerned with our happiness with this project. Several times they apologized for not doing something sooner, when we were stunned that these things had been handled so quickly!
The workers were on time each day, working from 9 am till 5 or 6 pm, and were courteous and considerate. They cleaned up each day and made sure we were aware of what was going on with each step as it happened.Every day we were just surprised at how much they’d accomplished, and the project was completed in half the time we’d expected it to take.
A corner of our original kitchen had been sacrificed to make a small coat closet in the living room. KBB removed the closet, and it gave us SOOO much more counter space, and it makes the kitchen seem twice the size it was!
They also added recessed lighting in the kitchen and dining room, and placed switches in more accessible spots than they had been before.
The pictures we’re sharing were done with a camera phone and i’m not good at it. They don’t begin to do justice. But believe me, all ofl our family and friends who have seen the results gasp the same way you do when a bride enters the room looking incredible. Everyone, including neighbors, has asked for their card.
We’ve had other contractors work on previous homes and this is the first time that we didn’t have a single moment of panic, or even concern, during the process.
We couldn’t be happier with the work done, and the reasonable price,
If you’re looking for someone to do your kitchen remodel, stop looking.
I’m serious. I don’t believe there could be a better choice available than these people.
I wanted work done in two bathrooms. I needed the master bathroom/shower to be made more handicapped accessible. I did my research and called Kitchen and Bath Beyond as one of the contractors and called and spoke with Sai. It was a positive experience from that first call. He explained about the process of choosing a company to do remodeling and ways to make sure they are reputable and suggested I get at least three estimates. After doing some more research and interviewing other companies I called back, explained what I wanted done and we set up an appointment for Jing (Sai’s wife) to come out to my home to measure and discuss what the work would entail. They absolutely listened to everything I said I wanted and also offered excellent suggestions and guidance when needed. I was upfront with them about my budget and they really worked with me on this. I was sent a detailed, written estimate via email and a 3-D rendering of the project. We had some questions I emailed back to them which they promptly responded to. As a matter of fact, through out the entire process both Sai and Jing quickly and patiently answered my (numerous) questions. Elaine, who works in the office, was also very helpful any time I called and either she got back to me promptly or got a message to Sai or Jing and they contacted me.
After I had decided to go with Kitchen and Bath Beyond, I went to the showroom to meet in person with Jing and to choose the materials. Jing listened to what I wanted and helped me in making decisions as needed; she had some really good suggestions. It was nice to have everything there in one location and they had a good selection of materials to choose from. And she spent a lot of time with us (my sister-in-law went with me). Everything was put in writing; I was even given pictures of the fixtures I had chosen.
During the remodel Sai and/or Jing would stop by frequently to check on the work performed, speak with me and ask if I had any questions. There were some changes I wanted made along the way which were incorporated into the job without any issue. I decided to change the type of shower door and it was expensive! Jing called a glass guy they work with and he (Eddie) made and installed the door at less than what Sai quoted me for them to do it. She didn’t have to do this but it was typical of the great service and positive interactions I had through out. The worker(s) came on time each day and were hardworking and skilled. Everyone tried to make the dust, mess, noise and general inconvenience as tolerable as possible – but demolition and remodeling are messy jobs! Communication with the workers was limited because they spoke Chinese but this wasn’t really a problem; they were able to let me know what time they would be coming the next day and, as I said, Sai or Jing were also in contact. If I had something I really needed to communicate with the worker (usually Zhang – very nice!) about I called the office and Elaine translated for me. The work was completed within the time frame Sai told me it would take (a week and a half).
I love the way everything turned out and have gotten compliments on it! I think the workmanship and materials are top notch. They also made what could be very stressful a positive experience. I highly recommend Kitchen and Bath Beyond and would not hesitate to use them again (I’d love to have my outdated and handicapped “unfriendly” kitchen remodeled!).
We selected Kitchen Bath and Beyond (KBB) to remodel our guest and master bathrooms. This work was done between mid February to mid March of 2016. In addition, they also installed granite around the fireplace and hearth, and spiffed up the laundry room.
Sai and his wife, Jing, were very amicable and easy to work with. Jing is very proficient at 3D modeling software and was able to provide drawings 2 months before the work commenced. They met with us several times in preparation. We were looking to remodel in a traditional style, and they were able to guide us with it.
Sai and Jing are great with thinking outside of the box. Our master bathroom had a lot of wasted space. Jing recommended a solution that allowed for a closet.
When it came to the purchasing of materials, we selected cabinets and granite from their showroom. Since they are affiliated with a cabinet maker, it was easy to customize the cabinets. They assisted in the tile selection and tile design layout. As for the rest of the materials, KBB provided materials such as grout, mortar, 2x4s, dry wall, hardy backer, piping that needed to be done within the walls, hot mop, and drawer handles.
As for our responsibility: tub, shower fixtures, faucets, towel racks, toilets, tile, lighting fixtures, mirrors, medical cabinets, shower curtain and glass shower door. Since we added a closet in our master bath, we also had to provide the door and door frame.
The work crew’s English was limited; however, that really was not a show stopper by any means. In fact, the 2 man crew assigned to us was VERY methodical. They were very careful about their positioning of shower heads to ensure that they would not interfere with the decorative tile. They were prompt, arriving at 9 and leaving at 5 (or a bit later if it was worth finishing something up.) They also worked Saturdays, which was quite a pleasant surprised. Jing or Sai would stop by frequently. The crew was very good about cleaning up prior to leaving for the day.
As for the laundry room, KBB was very flexible. We were in possession of extra tile and were able to use it in the laundry room. In addition, they also added a coat of paint on the walls and ceiling, installed 2 deep cabinets over the washer and dryer, and installed an LED light. This was all last minute, yet they were able to oblige.
We are extremely pleased and would recommend them. They do excellent work and the quality of their materials is very good. We will be contacting them again in the future for our kitchen remodel.
We recently purchased our first home in La Mesa. The kitchen was in pretty bad shape and we received several quotes from Home Depot and other contractors that were way out of our budget. After researching a few local businesses on Yelp, we decided to give Kitchen & Bath Beyond a try. We were pleasantly surprised by their quote which was about a third of the price of our previous quotes! We worked with Khoi who was very honest and excellent with communicating with us. The entire remodel took about 8 days (there was a slight delay due to El Niño rain), which is absolutely amazing. And the result is phenomenal! Our kitchen is gorgeous. We still can’t believe we get to have a kitchen so beautiful! We also had a very ugly bathroom vanity that I thought I was just going to have to live with, however Khoi informed us we had purchased 3 prefab countertops and we had just enough to replace the vanity! Thank you Khoi and everyone else who worked on our house. We will be recommending you to our friends!
Great, fast work in August 2015! Sai, Jing, Owen, Khoi were awesome and great to work with. Jing is great with the instant 3D rendering, accurate quotes, flexibility. Honest, hardworking people. Look around, get other quotes and do your homework. You won’t be unhappy if you go with these guys.
Kitchen and Bath Beyond did an amazing job on my kitchen and floors. Khoi was very professional and knowledgeable. He arrived for the estimate on time and immediately took measurements of the kitchen. Later that evening I was emailed a 3D design of my new kitchen. Khoi and his team of workers do precise and fast work. I have recommended Kitchen and Bath Beyond to all my friends and family.
I did quite a bit of research for a reasonably priced quality contractor to remodel my small kitchen. I had estimates from several companies, but KBB came back with the best bang for the buck and a livable timeline. The process was quite easy, relatively problem-free and included a 3-D rendering of the design, visit to their showroom, a fast and realistic estimate, reasonable start date, regular follow-up, and good after construction service. The craftspeople were highly skilled, meticulous, and thorough. It only took less than 3 weeks to completely gut the kitchen to its wall and floor, and transform it to a functional and modern kitchen. There were a few minor hiccups and misunderstanding during the construction but were resolved quickly to the satisfaction of both parties. Kudos to everyone who were involved but a special shoutout to Khoi, Yu, and Dong. Also, thanks to Jing and Sai for quickly resolving a small after construction problem. I would recommend KBB to anyone who’s looking for a quality contractor to remodel a kitchen. I’m sure that they’ll do an equally good job updating your bathroom.
I 100% recommend Kitchen and Bath Beyond. We recently used them for an entire kitchen remodel (whole kitchen and flooring removed to drywall, some parts to studs). It was a pleasure to work with Khoi (project manager/designer). Khoi initially came to our home to hear what we wanted and take measurements. He later emailed us 3D renderings of our new kitchen design. After a second meeting at our home we ironed out all of the design, including implementing many of Khoi’s suggestions. Khoi went above and beyond our expectations, in particular, managing the little details of the project as they popped up.
The most impressive aspect of Kitchen and Bath Beyond was the schedule. Our entire project from start to finish was 10 working days (2 calendar weeks). I couldn’t believe it!
Thank you Khoi and Kitchen and Bath Beyond!
This company impressed me with how fast and honest they were. They tell you exactly what you can do based off your dream design and they try to find ways to help you get it at the lowest price. No up selling which I really appreciate. I am in love with my kitchen! One tip…unless your personal plumber is at your hip, please just use their plumbing services for appliance connections…I’m a handy person but it’s a pain in the butt if anything goes wrong!
